Seamless aluminum gutters installed by Martin's Aluminum in Southbury, CT

The Detail That Quietly Protects Everything Else

Gutters aren't glamorous — until they fail. A properly sized, correctly pitched seamless gutter system moves water away from your roof edge, siding, foundation, and landscaping, preventing the kind of slow water damage that gets expensive fast: rotted fascia, soaked basements, cracked foundations, and washed-out beds.

Martin's Aluminum Products has been forming and installing seamless gutters across Western Connecticut for three generations. We run the aluminum on-site to the exact length of each roofline, set the pitch so water actually drains, and place downspouts where they'll carry water well clear of the house.

Looking for something more? We also install premium copper gutter systems, and we keep existing systems flowing with gutter cleaning and maintenance.

Signs Your Gutters Need Attention

Gutters tend to fail quietly. It's worth a closer look if you notice:

  • Water spilling over the edge or sheeting down behind the gutter
  • Sagging runs, or gutters pulling away from the fascia
  • Peeling paint, rust streaks, or rotted fascia and soffit
  • Pooling water, eroded beds, or a damp basement after rain
  • Seams or joints that drip, or downspouts that dump at the foundation
  • Plants growing in the gutter, or constant clogs

Most of these are far cheaper to fix than the water damage they cause. We'll tell you honestly whether you need a repair, a re-pitch, or a new seamless system.

Why Western CT Homeowners Choose Martin's

Aluminum and gutters are right in our name. Martin's Aluminum Products has been a Southbury-based, family-owned company since 1961, and forming seamless gutter has been core to what we do from the start. Three generations later, we still run every job ourselves and stand behind it.

We install and service gutters throughout the region, including Southbury, Woodbury, and Oxford. Curious what the finished work looks like? Browse our before & after gallery.

Gutters work hand in hand with the rest of the exterior, so many homeowners pair new gutters with roofing or siding — one local team protecting the whole house from the top down.

Aluminum or Copper — and Getting the Size Right

The right material and the right sizing matter just as much as a clean installation.

For most homes, seamless aluminum is the practical choice: it's formed on-site in one continuous run, comes in a wide range of baked-on colors that never need painting, resists rust, and typically lasts 20 to 30 years at a sensible price. When a homeowner wants something more distinctive and essentially permanent, copper is the upgrade — hand-soldered, beautiful as it patinas, and good for 50 years or more. We're glad to walk through the trade-offs honestly and help you land on the system that fits your home and budget.

Sizing is the part that's easy to get wrong. A roof with a steep pitch or a large surface area sheds a surprising amount of water in a heavy New England downpour, and an undersized gutter simply can't keep up — it overflows no matter how clean it is. We measure each roof and recommend the right profile (standard 5-inch or oversized 6-inch K-style) along with enough downspouts, correctly placed, to carry the volume away.

Where the water goes once it's down matters too. We route downspouts to discharge well clear of the foundation, and can add extensions, splash blocks, or tie into existing underground drains so water doesn't pool against the house. Considering gutter guards? They cut down on debris but aren't truly maintenance-free — we'll give you a straight opinion, and we keep any system flowing with seasonal cleaning.

Common Gutter Questions

Seamless gutters are formed on-site from a single continuous piece of aluminum, cut to fit your home exactly. With no seams along the runs, there are far fewer spots to leak or clog.
Yes. In addition to seamless aluminum, we install copper gutter systems for homeowners who want a premium, long-lasting, distinctive look. See our copper gutters page for details.
Most homes benefit from cleaning at least twice a year — spring and fall. Homes with many surrounding trees may need it more often. Learn more about gutter cleaning.
It depends on your roof's size and pitch and how much rain it sheds. Larger or steeper roofs often need 6-inch gutters and additional downspouts. We size the system to your home so it can keep up with heavy New England downpours.
Gutters protect your roof edge, siding, foundation, and landscaping by moving water away from the house. Failing gutters are a leading cause of expensive water damage.
